'Game of Thrones' Star Neil Fingleton Dead at 36

Neil Fingleton, the man who brought the Game of Thrones giant Mag the Mighty to life, has passed away from apparent heart failure. He was 36 years old.

The 7’7″ actor died Saturday in the UK.

Fingleton was a basketball player both in college and professionally before becoming an actor.  He played in college for both University of North Carolina and Holy Cross.  He played professionally in Spain, China, Italy, Greece and England.

Fingleton, who stood 7-feet and 7-inches tall, received the Guinness World Record in 2016 for being named Britain’s Tallest Man. He started out as a basketball player in the United States before switching to acting. He appeared as the Fisher King on Doctor Who, and did various roles (including stunt work) on films like Marvel’s Age of Ultron, X-Men: First Class, and Jupiter Ascending.

Fingleton played Mag the Mighty on the hit show.  He also appeared on “Dr. Who,” and in “X-Men: First Class” and “Avengers” Age of Ultron.”

The actor was among the 25 tallest men in the world.
